Essay # 10: Expect the Unexpected

I lied just to do what I wanted to do and that was a foolish thing for me to do. I didn’t know that she would do that to me. That was one of my bad night ever! At first, I was just feeling at ease but at the end of my day, it turned to an atmosphere that I’ve never expected to have. Everything flashed back to my memory specially the painful ones.
Last November 10, 2012, the sun was shining bright and leading the way. I woke up early because I scheduled my day to play badminton with my friends, Harrie, Isabela, Julie, Orange and Louise. I went to Walter Mart to meet up with my sisters Harie and Isabela. I went to to Jollibee, After we met up, we went already to PRC and there, orange was waiting for us. We went to the badminton court at PRC. After ten minutes of walking, we had arrived at…NOTHING! There was no badminton court there and it was late for us to know that it was already demolished. We decided to look for another court, We went to two courts near Walter Mart but still we are unlucky enough. Unfortunately, the first court was abandoned already and the second court held a competition that time and there was no vacant space. Finally, we ended up playing at a far court, Philippine Army Gym.
But still, problems are always by my side. At the Army Gym, the chucks rubber shoes are not allowed inside but  I brought a chucks rubber shoes. I borrowed Isabela’s rubber shoes because she didn’t want to play anymore as well as Harrie. Another problem was still on the list, we must play in a team. Meaning, we must have 2 members to play against us. We had waited for many hours so we can play. Hours passed, finally we could play now. While I was playing, I felt like I didn’t want to rest anymore. I have waited for that time so that I could play badminton. Whenever I play badminton, it feels like I was loosing weight and my whole body is at work.
After playing badminton, I felt tired but at the same time relaxed. I just couldn’t explain mmy feelings. Hari and isabela decided to go to my another friend’s house while me, I went to Julie’s house. We ate heavy lunch. The next thing we did was to watch movies and surfed the internet. I also took a bath at their house. We prepared ourselves for a mass. After preparing, we went already to Every Nation which is near Market Market to attend Touch Point, a service for college students and young adults. While we were inside the hall, it really felt like I am in heaven. My problems were released that time, I felt complete. I felt free worshiping God and the Holy Spirit was within me. The Word of God is very fruitful and really touched my heart. It really taught me a lesson.
After the service, my friends decided just to walk going to our homes and exactly, that time I didn’t have money as a fare for my transportation. I didn’t know that it was getting late and my mother was calling me, I told her that I was already at Guadalupe but th =e truth was we were still eating at MCDO that time. Time passed and it was already 11 in the evening. I was scared to ride on the bus because I am a girl and I didn’t know what will happen to me. My friends already separated their ways. I got home at exactly 12: 18, as I walked to our house, my feet were moving slowly and I’m praying that she would not scold me. I had arrived at our house, my mother welcomed me with a slap on my face. I didn’t expect that she would do that to me. I ran to the CR and stayed there for 30 minutes. I cried and I cried and I cried. All my hard feelings gave me the reason to cry more. Everything was the reason for the tears on my eyes.

Essay # 9: RELATIONSHIPS

Most of us here have our own different relationships, relationship to family, to someone, to friends, to others and to God. But do we really know the real meaning of a real RELATIONSHIP? If you will literally search on the meaning of relationship, it would mean " the relation connecting or binding participants in a relationship". But as we continue to go along with our lives, we gradually know the real meaning and importance of a relationship to us. Do we even really know to whom is our relationship very important?

LOVE- is one of the most factor we must have in order to have that so called relationship. Without love, how can we build a relationship to one another. And if there is love, we must also have COMMITMENT meaning to have focus and mindset to your relationship. But sometimes, having much commitment to relationships can lead you to a obsession. Honestly, I have most of the types of relationships except for one and that is the relationship for someone. I have lived my life in 17 years without having commitment to someone. Yeah, sometimes, I try to wonder why nobody can't ever love me. Sometimes I imagine that I am with someone anyways there is nothing wrong with that. Sometimes I tend to be insecure to others who have their someone but I still have some question in mind. WHY DO I LOOK HAPPY EVEN IF SOMETIMES I FELT LIKE MY RELATIONSHIP ARE OVER?

There is only one person behind that, and that is our powerful one, our GOD. Why out of so many people, why HIM? Maybe many questions are running thru your minds but did you even care feel how His relationship we have with Him. He is my best friend, He never left me in times of troubles and trials. He is always whenever I needed Him. He protected me from harm. He even sacrificed His own life just to save me. That's why I am right now. In times of facing my giant problem, He always come to me giving the five stones: remembrance, prayer, priority, persistence. He never busted me however sometimes I feel that I am the one who is making Him busted. Whenever I go to somewhere, He is always with me.

Essay # 8: Effects of Lack of EDUCATION

A 14 year old girl is currently at her second year level in high school. Her family belongs to Class D and not that blessed financially. She had 8 siblings and she is the fifth. Out of them, one must sacrifice to stop her schooling. So the girl sacrificed so that her younger siblings can start studying at the right age. The girl just stayed at home for many years helping her mother to do the chores and other stuff. If you will analyze the situation, what do you think would happen to the girl? And if this case will also happen to others, do you think there will be negative effects specially when you lack knowledge and learning? Lack of education is a serious matter to an individual and to the community. And if it will not be prevented, it may lead to negative effects. Lack of education can result poverty, increase in crime rate and increase the illiteracy rate.

Poverty is one of the most common effect of lack of education of an individual. One who lacks real learning will be poor because when you lack education, there is a possibility that you can’t apply for a job. If you don’t have any job, you don’t have the source of your income. If you don’t have the income, you can provide your basic needs and also your family. And poverty starts here and sometimes tend to minor effects like teenagers might experience early and teenage pregnancy. Poverty is a major effect of lack of education.

Another effect of lack of education is the increase in crime rate in Philippines. This year, our country was considered as one of the countries in the world where crime rate increases yearly. As the status quo, teenagers are very exposed to different types of crime like stealing, drug addiction and murder. In news report nowadays, teenagers  are the main suspects of the crimes. But there is one reason behind that subjected matter and of course that is the lack of education. Teenagers are not taught of the lessons and learning in their everyday lives. If all teenagers will not be taught of true lessons, crime rate will increase not only yearly but daily.

Lastly, is the increase of illiteracy rate. According to yearly records of literacy rate of the Philippines, the country reached a 97 percent literacy rate or the mastery rate of all citizens aging 40 years old and below. However, illiteracy rate is also increasing. From a 35 percent illiteracy rate, it gone up to 75 percent. See how powerful is education in each of us. One teenager who lacks education can already add a 10 percent rate to the statistics of no learning. But do you think that there is a solution for so many effects of this issue?

There are so many solutions for this problem. If we just do our own responsibilities and obligations as a youth. If we just think of the issue in a bigger scale of picture. Sometimes we tend to depend on one side, the government side for what is happening right now. We, ourselves are the ones who are also responsible for this so many problems. Everything will be solved if we just have the HEART for our NATION.

Essay # 7: " Three-in-One" FRIEND

Do you have a friend who is like a NESCAFE? Oopss!! I know what is on your mind. You are thinking of a friend who has a black skin color, right? Well definitely, you are wrong because I am referring to someone who possessed three good qualities. Well, if you have a friend like that, you are very lucky, you know why? because he/she can make you glow even in you darkest hour and of course you will be motivated to be one of them.

As a friendly youth of this generation, I have so many friends of different personalities, attitudes and faces. Some of them are like Nescafe but one lady stood out the most among them. A beautiful, tall and young lady with a round-shaped head. Her eyes sparkle like a diamond,. Her lips is as red as an apple. Her hair is as soft as the cloud. She has a slender body and a very long legs. She is a very nice and good friend of mine that I am treating her as my mother. Her physical appearance is just one- fourth of her real personality and what I really like the most about her are her character. Let us just call her, Jopay.

Her three qualities that really made a big impression to me as her friend are: JOLLY, FEARLESS and AMAZING. Being a JOLLY person is not usual for some of us specially to a charming friend, we can't even imagine that. Like me, she is also a very jolly person . She laughs even though the cracked jokes are very corny. Her happiness' source is very low and rampant. She is fun to be with. I even remember when we were in high school, we always go to Rockwell and there she always run without any reason for running, she just wanted to do that. Whenever she is with our group, we always laugh that our stomach are aching every time we laugh. Every time we bond in school, the atmosphere is very noisy, there is no awkward silence. And she, being a jolly person is a one reason only for me to like her that much.

Another quality of her is FEARLESS. She is a very strong person not like me. She even embraces all the problems in her life. She is not afraid of solving problems on her own. She is always ready of facing the consequences from doing a big mistake. She is not afraid of anything and anyone except God. I wanted to be like her but I can't and I don't know why. And lastly, simple, she is AMAZING. Amazing, because she never disappointed me. She really treats me as her real child. I feel that I've found my third mother with her. She is a very lovable, caring and awesome friend and a great companion.

Her three qualities made her as a one person with a nice character. Like a Nescafe, there are three main ingredients that makes it a great taste to everyone. For a friend like her, she has three qualities that made a great foundation of her whole personality. Another thing is the first letter of her three qualities: J, F and A makes up her real name. And her real name is Juliecar Faith Amian, she is the best coffee I have ever known.

Essay # 6: The Feeling of Going Back Again to SCHOOL

Every teenager enjoys their summer whether go outing with their family and friends, attend seminars or sports training and even working to earn money for their own schooling. Having summer, maybe one of the best moment, teenagers most likely to enjoy. It is the time when everybody can do whatever they want, relax or keep themselves busy. But we all know that everything has end. Whenever summer comes to an end, the happy faces of everyone are turning into a lonely and sad faces because summer is going to end and everything will be back to normal.

Probably, most teenagers do after summer is go back to school. And start another school year. Me, also, have experienced that going back to school. Whenever that time comes, I feel different emotions like happy and sad. I feel happy because I'm going to see again my classmates and friends. But somehow I feel sad also because I can't do again the things I did on summer. I am going to be busy again. However, this past summer , yes, I went back to school but now in a higher level. I entered in a new community, a community of aging 16 and above. When I first entered college, I felt very excited but at the same time scared. Excited, because I will meet a new bunch of people having different personalities and faces. And also  I will have the chance to learn and adapt a new culture. Scared, because others might not like me for who I am. And being not contented with the atmosphere in college. Speaking of atmosphere, the atmosphere that time is quite different from high school because people in college now are matured to know everything  but in terms of environment: I think today's environment is the best, everything is clear to my sight.

Going back to school might sometimes tend to give us the attitude of laziness but everything will change. Don't think that when you go back to school, you will be now living in hell but imagine that in the hell, there is always a heaven where you can find angels who can be your friend and there you can learn many things. ALWAYS think that everything that you wanted to learn and know can be found at SCHOOL. And also SCHOOL ROCKS !!

Essay # 5: Ten years from TODAY ...

It was very beautiful Monday morning, I woke up very early. Took a bath. I ate a delicious breakfast: hotdog, fried rice, pancake, bread and a hot coffee. I was sitting on a pink chair in a well ventilated dining room. After eating, I fixed  myself for a very special day. I was wearing a black skirt, pink sleeveless and a white coat. I looked for my 2 inched heel shoes. And now, I am ready to go. I was driving my own pink Ford car. There was no traffic so I travelled only for 20 minutes. I had arrived at our building at exactly 6:45. I parked my car at avery big space. I got all my things from my car then went to the entrance building. Before I went inside, I told myself that “ This is my day, my first day as the President of our company”. Then I entered into the building where everyone was greeting me.

It was a very beautiful Monday morning and I woke up very early. I have realized that I was just dreaming about me 10 years from today. I started to think, what if my future will not be like that and it will just be worse as I’ve ever imagined. I felt a little bit disappointed, thinking that everything you have been working hard for many years will just turn into dusts but I will not let that thing to happen. I am young, I’m  only 17 years old and 10 years is a long period of time for me to work hard and hard and hard so that my dream will become a reality.

Well, everyone of us dreams of a very bright future. Sometimes we dreamt of having our own car, big mansions and even being CEO’s of our own companies. And sometimes we tend to be afraid when we imagine of having a dark and abandoned future. THINK POSITIVELY ALWAYS !!! Th e future is always in our hands but we must learn how to seek help and guidance from others specially from HIM. We all know that He knows what is our future. He is the ONE who can really help us reaching our dreams.

Essay # 4: One of my INTERESTS

To all the readers, who among you have any interest in physical spaces? Whenever you are in big space, do you tend to take notice of your surroundings? Well, Me? Yes! I am very much interested with this job which is interior design. But first what is interior design? According to my source, interior design is the process of shaping the experience of interior space through the manipulation of spatial volume as well as surface treatment. Another question, what do we call a person who have this kind of job? Yes, it is the interior designer. An interior designer is considered as one of the professional in the field of interior design or the one who is responsible for the interior design, decoration, and functionality of a space, whether the space is commercial, industrial, or residential.. And in order for us to be called a good INTERIOR DESIGNER, what are the qualities first that we must possessed?

First is CREATIVE, you must be unique in what you offer to your clients in order for you to bring new life to a different spaces. Your creativity can transform an old furniture into a new art. Second is the ABILITY to MULTI-TASK. Ability to multi task is very vital. Interior designing is not just designing but also you must know how to coordinate with delivery schedule of the materials, construction workers and balance it all within a budget. Third, GOOD MANAGEMENT SKILLS, this might sound like school but it is true, you need to learn how to handle stress, deadlines and multiple assignments. You need to be able to deliver management skills without comprising quality.  Fourth is GOOD INTERPERSONAL SKILLS, you are going to work with different people of different fields. You must also know how to maintain a good relationship with your contractors, architects, and most specially your clients. Fifth is, HARD WORKING NATURE, you are dealing with your own home and the designer should be worthy of the trust of the client. The one who will strive to meet your needs on time and on budget. Sixth, must have the KNOWLEDGE OF DIVERSE DESIGN STYLES, we don’t  our house to be a carbon copy of another just to complement the others. Should must have a diverse knowledge of designs, techniques and aesthetics. And lastly , the one who has the PASSION TO WHAT he is doing. He must have the genuine love to all the aspects of interior design.

Interior designer are not just the ones who put looks to the building’s interior. Yes it is but they also play a key role in putting functionality because even big houses can also lack space if it does have poor interior design. They are the people behind our colourful and meaningful society.

Essay # 3: Age Discrimination

Usually, people who are in their freshman year of college are around seventeen years old, but I ask you dear classmates, how would you react to someone who is still an undergraduate at 25, or 32? If you feel weird just imagining that, then you are discriminating a person based on age. This is obviously called age discrimination.

Age discrimination has been rampant in our country for a long time, in workplaces, schools, various communities, and most prominently, in relationships. Are you familiar with the terms “cougar” and “sugar daddy”? They refer to men and women who enter into relationships with people who are significantly younger that they are. Does it make you uncomfortable seeing a hot, young woman with a man old enough to be her grandfather, only to find out he’s actually her girlfriend? If so, why? You might argue that it’s just plain wrong. But I say you are just not used to the idea. I am completely against age discrimination, in all its forms. Whether it be at work, in school, at malls, anywhere. There are certain jobs that require a certain age to be considered, such as flight stewards or stewardesses. These are understandable, unlike other positions like a student for example. It is weird seeing a 25-year old high school student. Whether he has stayed or gone back to high school is none of our business. I believe what is important is he did go back to high school, to pursue an education. We should not care for the reasons behind it because one, it really is none of our business and two, the person might be offended.

All in all, what I am trying to tell you people is that you should open your minds a bit more, like when it comes to age for example. Never judge someone who you think is doing something wrong just because you are not used to the idea of them Don’t freak out over a 25-year old high school student, or an old man with a 20-year old girlfriend. There are stories behind them believe me, and as soon as you hear them you might not be as freaked out as before. This might sound cliché but remember that age is just a number, and you should never treat as a hindrance for your goals.

Essay # 2: Carefree

Think of an eight year old child left behind at toy store, or a college student after his/ her final exams. Imagine a couple who have their entire day to themselves celebrating their first year anniversary. Think of me, and what word comes to your mind ? I like to think that my life centres around this one word, CAREFREE.

I know that whenever you hear the CAREFREE, the first thing that comes to your mind is a brand name of a sanitary napkin. Yes it is, but you don’t know that it has a lot of meaning. For me, if I’m going to translate, this into tagalong, it ould mean “walang paki”. Yes, I am a carefree person but in a positive way. An example situation is we have a test tomorrow or project to be passed, I will not worry about these things, it will just make me stress. Do your job rather than worrying. Think oout of the box; tests and projects are just minor problems. Why should we worry little things if we have bigger problems to be prioritize ? We are just making a mountain out of a molehill.

Another thing is, it creates symbolism. We know that this is used by the women as a protection from a strange monthly visitor. I have just realized that it is very helpful. It helps a woman to be optimistic because she s confident to move or to do whatever she wants. As a woman, the napkin in my life are my motivations and inspirations in life. The things that help me to have a beautiful outlook in life.

My blog might mean unpleasant to the gentlemen and might feel a little awkward to the ladies but we do have our own interpretations. I am not telling everybody specially the women to buy and use carefree, I just want you all to know that even this kind of thing can make a big difference to our lives. If I am carefree, you, what naokin you are ?

Essay # 1: A Day at the Mall :)

Why do us people go to malls ? There are many reasons why they do. First of, all people want to buy the things they want, clothes, shoes, and home appliances. All the material things we need can be found inside the mall. Secondly, maybe because they want to spend their time with their special someone, friends and family. Thirdly, maybe because they want to see their idols face to face. Lastly, people just go there to window-shop or to have fun. And I have my own reason too why i go to the mall.
Going to the mall is one of my hobbies whenever I have leisure time. Even though I don't have money, i will still go to the mall just to relax. If I am going to describe my best day at the mall, probably you will imagine how happy my feeling is.  So let me tell you the reasons why I go to malls. The first reason why I go is because of my friends. My friends and I go to malls after school to relieve our stress and to have fun. We usually go to Mall of Asia  to play at the Timezone. We spend most of our time there to play some games.  After that we also eat at our favourite restaurant. I'm very thankful to have them because they make me happy. The second reason is my family. Me and my family go to malls to buy things that we need in our house. Then we also have our family lunch in the mall every Sunday.  We also watch movies together. And in the evening, we ride the vikings, the train and the bump car. I didn't even have a boring day a the mall because I always make the fun out of it.
I really love going to malls. It makes me feel good and of course relax. I feel incomplete if I don't go to mall specially If I am bored. It makes me really sick when you know that others are having good time while you are really tired doing nothing at home. I will do any anything just to go to mall. If I can just walk, I will. But sometimes I am imagining myself going to the mall with my boyfriend.  I think that i will be very happy because it is my first time to go to the mall with a special someone. There is nothing wrong with going to the malls everyday unless we do abuse ourselves specially our health. We must know first the risks before doing something that can make you feel bad.

My AMAZING Siblings :)

Most of us have our own siblings of different characters and attitudes. I wrote this blog because I want you all to know more about my siblings.

She is my sister, Marnie Marie Valencia Parma. She is prettier than me, isn't it obvious ? She is now in fourth year high school. Studying at Fort Bonifacio High School. We don't look the same and I don;t know why. I think that she had already many boyfriends maybe she has a pretty face while me ZERO. Maybe She can wear sexy clothes while me is still praying to lose weight so the clothes will fit in my figure We do have the same tastes for clothes but not BOYS. To be honest, I feel some insecurity for her because of the things she have that I don't. Eventhough she has the looks and the body, at least I have the brain (not being boastful but that's the truth. But she is fond of studying. She strives hard just to pass,  In spite of our differences and my insecurities, I still love her. No matter what I do, we have same blood flowing in our bodies.

While that boy is my brother, Ermar John Valencia Parma. He is also studying at the same school as my sister but he is in third year level. The naughtiest among us maybe because he is a boy. He is the best friend of my mother. Sometimes I tease him a gay but I know he is not. It's just a big joke. He is the laziest among us. Like me, he also has the little brain but he doesn't know how to use in a good way. He is not fond of studying not like my sister. Whenever they see each other, they are like a cat and a dog who always fight for a simple thing that is useless.Like other boys, he also loves to play video and internet games that really makes m sick. Sometimes, I tend to hate boys who never left computers just because of addiction in playing. My brothers is the one who gives fun in our house.

Yes, I can say that we are close but not that tight because I am living a little far from them. They are staying with my parents while me at my aunties's place. We have also similarities. The three of us love to dance specially my brother. I can say that he is really good at dancing. During weekends, I have the time to bond with them. Talking about topics that are really funny, watching movies together and going to other places. But most don't know that we have a little sister who is adapted by my father's brother because they don't have children. She is now 8 years old in Grade 3 level living at Malaysia. She has more brain than the three of us. Some of relatives say that she really looks like me, the body and the face. Most of the time, I am imaging that what if she is with us right now, she will be happy living with us ? When will she know that she is our real sibling? Does she feel that she is just an adapted child of my uncle? Questions are really scattered in my mind and I pray that all of my questions will be answered soon. I can't wait for the moment to come.
Let us be glad because we do have siblings . We are lucky because we have playmates since our childhood times. We have our companions. We have friends inside our homes. Let's just help praying for some who doesn't have one. Love your brothers and sisters. They are very important in your growing life. They will help if you need a hand. They will never leave you alone. Like your friends, they will also accept you for who and what you are.

From a LITTLE Girl to a LADY...

The sun shines so brightly and I was just a little girl who is wearing a barbie branded pink dress playing with my naughty friends at the playground. Enjoying our time playing at the slides and seesaws.  Making friends with other children accompanied by their mothers. I don' t care what the time is as long I am enjoying myself. I don't care whether my dress is dirty or full of mud as long I am with them. I don't care about the things I am doing, whether it is right or wrong. Then the rain fell down from the sky, I don't know what to do, if I am going to find a shelter or just go home. But the rain fell very badly and my parent's that time are not yet home. I decided just to continue playing. I really loved the rain. I was dancing and singing with the rain that really made my day complete but the rain had already stop. It is getting late, I went back to our home Mom scolded because I might get sick while father is just doing his office work. I went to my room and started crying because I didn't know that mom will scold that way and in fact I was just enjoying my self doing that. I was talking with my barbie doll. I said to her all my hard feelings. But I have realized that she is just a toy that will never talk to me. I fell asleep with the teardrops falling from my eyes. Another day has come, I went downstairs and saw mom preparing breakfast and I think that she is not mad at me now because when she saw me, she was smiling. I felt happy.

I wake up and realized that I was just dreaming about my childhood days. I am not a little girl now. It seems that now is very different from the past. Now, I don't wear barbie branded dress. I don't play at playgrounds now. I don't play either the barbie dolls, I just play internet games. I can go wherever I want to without asking my parent's permission. I can do whatever I want. I know now what are the right and wrong things. I have now the thinking to all my decisions. Now I can chose a man who will I be with.  Then I was just simple things but now I am looking more than that. Then I was appreciating material things now I appreciate more the non material things, the things that will never lose in our lives. I am now more conscious to my physical appearance. I can say that I  am now a lady who a little class.

Happenings from the past will just become memories that we must treasure because once we have grown up, our experiences, characters and personalities will changed. Although there are some that will not change but it will be improved.  Some will be mature. We will know now what are the things that we must consider in life. Everything will changed and it is our choice if our change will be bad or good. Maybe things will be different but that's life, we don't have nothing else to do but rather accept it.

NEXT DOOR NEIGHBORS :)

I know all of us have neighbors that do have different attitudes. There's the neighbor that you are really close with. When you have nothing to do, you will invite them to do some indoor or outdoor activities with them. The neighbor who is really killjoy that every time we do enjoy our parties, they will go out of their shelters and starts to shout to us saying " you guys are very noisy, can you please tone down the music or lower your voices". And in some instances, they will call some barangay officials for them to scold us and ask if we could just stop our party. That really sucks you know. But there are some who are just happy go lucky.  They are just going with the flow. And there are some that don't even care. They don't even know what is happening already to their neighbors.  Whether we like it or not, we have our neighbors, our companion in community events and stuff.

When I was still in first year high school, I was living together with my family, I can describe that our neighbors are very lively and  hyperactive. At that place, we do have our own business, not really the business that we can earn for a living, its the business that we don't want to be part of or distract others. I remember that whenever Christmas times come, we always have a big party in our streets. We are enjoying our company with each other. I have also a group there. And I really liked living there. But as a grow, gradually I am losing the interest going out of our house then bond with my friends. I started to focus first on my studies that I don't have anymore time to be with them. After arriving from school, I will just to my school stuff and rest after I have finished my works. Every time that we see each other, I am starting to feel the awkward feeling. We do talk but for important reasons and most of the time, just a couple of minutes. There comes also many issues about me not going out of our house.

But now, I am in my first year college, my parents and I decided that I will now live at my auntie's house this time because it is nearer at my school that I could just walk from the house to my school. I am now living in a place where the atmosphere is somehow quite different from the other. Our neighbors is not fan of going out of their house. I think that they are busy making money  They will just go out if they' re going to other places. They will not go out just to bond with their other neighbors. They do have parties but not that noisy and lively as ours. We do have a neighbor who are very killjoy that I want to kill them (but killing is immoral), whenever we have parties, there is always a barangay cab who are stopping by and telling that they are some who are complaining because we are very noisy but no one will stop. We know our limitations and we know also when to stop. I am now adapting a new culture from a new place. Lucky I am, because I did not experienced culture shock maybe because I always got to stay at my auntie's place every vacation.

I am happy that we have neighbors because if we don't have them, maybe there will be a disaster in our place. I think that we will have a boring atmosphere. Let just be glad that we ALL do have our own neighbors. We have the chance to interact with different people of different attitudes and characters. As a verse from the bible, LOVE YOUR NEIGHBORS AS YOU LOVE YOURSELF.

18 things to consider while YOUNG !

Learning ? What is learning ? In my own words, learning is a way of acquiring knowledge from others or based on your own personal experiences. It is useless if it doesn't have purpose. It is very useless when you don't know how to apply it in real life. It is very useless without sharing it to others. Speaking of sharing, I just want to share some knowledge I have learned from a Discipleship Training in our church.

Last June 7, 2012, we had a discipleship training in our church whereas we are trained how spread spiritual virtues to others specially the youth of today. We are learning many things from this training like serving God respectfully and with commitment. We earn knowledge that we can really use in the future. Things that may help other youth to deepen more their relationship with God. I have just felt that I will not let midterms come without sharing these or write it as a blog. And these are the lessons that I want to share to others. THE 18 THINGS TO CONSIDER WHILE YOUNG.

   1. Take care of your teeth.
   2. Take care of your skin.
   3. Eat a lot.
   4. Learn to swim.
   5. Learn to dance.
   6. Learn your GRAMMAR well.
   7. Finish your schooling.
   8. Be in right course.
   9. Learn fractions and percentage.
   10. Learn computers.
   11. Get a masters degree.
   12. Make a lot of good friends.
   13. Enjoy your family.
   14. Make friends with your brothers and sisters.
   15. Attend parties.
   16. A void dangerous activities.
   17. Avoid premarital sex.
   18. Put GOD first in everything that you do.

I am sorry if I did not put any explanations. It does not mean that I am too lazy to type my explanations or I don't know how to explain this things. I just  want to leave a challenge to everybody who are going to read my blog specially the teenagers. I want you all to know by yourselves why we must consider that 18 things. Like what i have said learning can come from others and of yourself. The others is ME, and I have shared these things to you. you, yourselves will know the reasons why just by your own personal experiences. And yes, check all the things that you are already doing and you have. For the ones you did not put a check, try your best to do those things because I know that it benefit you all. I hoped that you will learn from these things. .

My SUMMER Plans

According from my source, summer is one of the seasons of  a year which is the warmest and it falls between the seasons of spring and autumn. But for me, it is the best part of a year anyone can have. When the end of a school year comes, everyone are talking about of what are their plans for summer. Some are planning to look for a summer job, attend workshops, go for outing with their family and friends and some are just staying in their homes. Imagine a season full of love and sweetness, flying butterflies, blooming flowers and warm breeze.

Last summer was not that exciting but it was a little fun. I attended the SMART workshop of Mayor Jun Binay, I chose the badminton training because I want to lose weight but unfortunately it did not happen. I was hoping that time, badminton training is effective. But I have learned a lot of things that I am applying now. It was not just a training of skills but also a training of self-discipline. For next summer, there are so many plans that I want to do. One of these is I want to look for a summer job. I want to spend my summer with a big purpose. I know that summer jobs can help me earn money for another my second year in college. I want to help my parents.  I don't want them to worry about the tuition fee that we will pay so I can enroll again. And of course, I want to earn for my future. Summer jobs can also be a training for me for my future jobs and I'm sure that with this kind of job I will meet different types of people. I want also to attend again workshops and trainings because I want o be physically fit and I loving and enjoying these kind of stuff. I am planning also an outing for BM 121 because the last time we planned an outing, the day before it was postponed. And if I have more time, maybe we will go out of town with my whole family so that we can bond with each other after a successful school year.

Summer is one of the best timing to bond with our friends and family. In this season, we have the chance to relax our minds and body. We can escape from a room full of stress and problems. We can go wherever we want to. We can do whatever we want. We can relax whenever we want. Let us not waste our summer doing worthless things but rather spend it with the warmth of our love and sweetness of our lives. Cherish the precious moments. Make your summer the best of it.

SEX EDUCATION: Not a Subject in Schools

According to the internet, sex education is a study that relates to human sexuality, which includes sexual anatomy, sexual reproduction,  sexual intercourse, reproductive health, emotional relations, reproductive rights and responsibilities, abstinence, birth control, and other aspects of human sexual behavior. The real target of this issue are the students and said that is must be added to the curriculum in schools. This issue can make a big difference to the people who are affected by this. Sex education should not be implemented.

Sex education is a big rat in our society. It will just destroy the little young minds of the students. Think of the situation, what IF sex education will be implemented? The students, instead of studying the real lessons, they will just focus on the sex education because we all know that the word SEX is really a distraction. What is the purpose of family planning if we are going to implement this? Sex education must be taught at their homes by their parents because they know best. The parents should be the one who will clear things out. We know that the first school of the children is their home. We don’t even know if the lessons taught at schools are right. And because of their curiosity, they might try the things they are learning from school. They are wondering how does it feel to be in that situation.

Nowadays, population continue to increase. In order for us to prevent this from growing, many alternatives are created. One of them is the sex education. For example, if 4 out of 10 students know about sex education, maybe our population will gradually decrease. If we are going to implement sex education, I can say that it can really help. Imagine if the students will be engage with this study, they will know how important our sexual parts are. If we will teach students about this, guarantee that teen pregnancy will decrease because it is one of the major problems of teenagers in this generation. It can help to decrease birth rate and specially the death rate. In some statistics, whenever a child is born, one child dies. If we don't implement sex education, there will be no space left for others. There will be a shortage of our  basic needs.
Parents should be the one to teach sex education not the teachers to further the learning of a student. These days, because of our world that is liberated, children are now being exposed to the unrealistic nature of sex. Sex education is not the way to educate our children. There are many simple ways that can help. Guiding our children while watching television can help a lot just by clarifying topics that are not meant to be watch by the children. But we cannot forced the parents to teach their children. It is their choice if they're going to teach their children. Teenagers nowadays are stubborn, they don't even listen to their parents. They think that they know all things about it because they are one who are experiencing it. Sometimes teenagers just learn from their own.

Before we go to our decision, we should know first the stands of both sides. Think of what will happen if sex education will be implemented, Yes, it may help to decrease the growing population and stop the spreading of sexual intercourse disease but like I have said, it will the fresh mind of the children. It is not the right time for them to know about that delicate topics. On the other hand, if  sex education is not implemented, our population will continue to blow.

As a conclusion, I will stand my decision. Sex education should not be implemented. Everything will just come to its worse. The real learning and discipline is up to us, we are the one who controls ourselves not contraceptives, planning, and not even sex education. The future is in our hands.

The REAL Competition :">>

“Competitions has been shown to be useful up to a certain point and no further, but cooperation, which is the thing we must strive for today, begins where competition leaves off.”  - Franklin D. Roosevelt

“Nobody’s going to win all the time. On the highway of life you can’t always be in the fast lane.” – Haruki Murakami

“Competition brings out the best in products and the worst in people.” – David Sarnoff

I opened our wifi modem, turned on the laptop, clicked the google chrome button, went to Sir Dustin's  blog dashboard, chose for my topic, started searching quotations about COMPETITION, collected ideas, made a draft and now typing my blog.  I chose the topic , how do I feel about competitions ? because there are many ideas that comes out through my mind.  And as I search on the quotations about the topic, there are three quotations that really captured my attention so I decided to include those on my blog.  I can say that these quotations can inspire or motivate an individual to make him or her prove that she is different from the others and just enjoy the competitions he or she is joining.

Federation of Student Government of Makati Jingle Competition

When I was in high school, I am a fan of joining group competitions. Competitions that made my confidence to grow, made me knew what I can really do, help me improved my talents and of course, taught me how to deal properly with other competitors. Competition is not competition without pressures, misunderstandings and wars. During competitions, I have felt all the emotions. The happiness every time we win, the loneliness every time we lose, the pressure in all of us and the fun when we bond with each other. I remember back then, every time that our Intramurals occurs, all of the students in our school are really busy doing there stuffs like practice for the cheer dance, training for basketball and volleyball and buying props and costumes for our batch. I even experienced having overnight the day before the competition and when the day came, we all danced with sleepy heads, without presence of mind that led to our defeat. I even felt the pain throughout my body that I can't moved because of the whole training for the ball games. I even paid a lot of money just to buy our costumes, jerseys, etc. And I've even sacrificed my studies just to put all my time just for the competition. I have experienced also the batch wars. Cramming is very popular that time. I have a prediction then " when we CRAM, we always WIN". But it is just a belief for us, we all know that we win because we have the passion to do what we are going to do, the presence of mind during the performance, heart for what we do, the mindset to our goal  and the cooperation and unity we possessed.

For me the award that anyone can receive rather than the real awards is the FRIENDSHIP made inside the circle of competition even though they are our competitors but outside that circle, we enjoy the company with them and we also have fun bonding with them. I always keep to my mind that every competition is like a FRIENDLY- COMPETITION. Win or Lose, it doesn't matter, matters most is the lesson you have learned from that wonderful experience. Always remember that competitions are not made to have wars. Make the fun out of it.

My Non- Living Thing BEST FRIEND :)

We all know that desks are just material things that we can see in offices, establishments, and most specially schools. Desks are very helpful to mankind. But what is a desk and what is the importance of having this in our daily lives ? Basically, the definition of a desk is piece of furniture typically having a flat or sloping top for writing and often drawers or compartments. It's either made of a wood or a metal. Desks have different importances  It depends on where or when it is used but usually students are the ones who always use desks. According to the website ehow.com, this kind of furniture is important not only for the comfort and aesthetics of those who are using it but for the function it serves within the classroom environment. It helps people to write very well in terms of handwriting and of course to write with concentration. But there is a question that always flies to my mind every time I see desks in classroom,  WHAT IF DESKS CAN TALK TO US ?

If desks could really talk, I could imagine one of  them as a teenage boy named DESKSter who always yells to young pretty girls every time they are hurt physically. Maybe he is already mad at me because I always put many things on top of him. He would have scolded me either like my mother if I am letting anyone sit on him even if he is not a chair. And if he could really really talk, probably he is my best friend now. WHY ? He is always there every time I feel sleepy, I'll just lay my head on him, take a nap and imagine that he is my pillow. Whenever I feel I'm crying, I'll just cry on him and he will catch those shed of tears running through my eyes. If I have problems, he might give me some pieces of advice. If I am bored, he will let me write stories, songs, etc. on him even if it is not the right thing to do. But I have stopped it since it is not the proper thing to do. When I was in high school, I always feel sorry for him whenever I see stupid writings written on him. If I am angry, he will allow me to punch him. If I am scared during the night, I will hide under him and protect me. And every time I am in my serious mood studying and doing my school works, he will not do things just to disturb me but instead will help me to improve my work with his fictitious ideas. If I'm having a hard time carrying heavy things, he will sacrifice himself and let me put those heavy things on him. If I am happy, he will be there for me and share a bunch of laughters. He is one the people behind my success of my tests and assignments. He is the type of best friend that I can really lean on. He is the best friend I've ever had in my entire life.

I know he is our ideal best friend but we are living in a world of reality, my best friend, DESKSter is not a human, he is just a non living thing that will never talk, will never laugh and will never share feelings with me. The real lesson from this is, even though they are just material things, we must also consider how they are important to humans. Let us use these things in a proper way. Desks never left us behind. We must remember that in every success of ones' lives, desk is the place where we first collected ideas, took down the notes, made the draft of our story, and finalized our goals.
